#coding4theculture takes on ISTE

#coding4theculture, the Education Uncontained project at Duquesne Elementary School presented at the 2018 Annual Convening of the International Society of Technology in Education. A caravan of 12 people left Pittsburgh and participated in the three day conference. What made this unique? It was a family affair. Parents, a grandparent, teachers, and the young women that make up #coding4theculture were ready and willing to showcase their coding chops to everyone who stopped by the presentation.

This intergenerational approach is not strange to the #Coding4theCulture group because that was exactly why it was created! Sixth grade women from Duquesne Elementary set out to fix one important thing in their community – to teach coding to adults and siblings who waited around each Saturday morning during the basketball games that happened in the district.
